The team concept

Collective strength and team play go hand in hand. We humans practice it, as do all manner of other critters, from the smallest to the largest.

Cooperation between individuals for a common cause is key to the success of any enterprise involving groups.

In human affairs, there is a down side however, when the enterprise is war between groups of people. When lives are at stake there is only one thing that matters: Kill or get killed.

Something happens inside our brains that turn us into killing machines in such circumstances and things are done to perfectly decent people that horrify outsiders looking in on the conflict.

It happens in every war everywhere and further contributes towards alienation between warring peoples and demonization of opponents.

It is happening in Europe right now and is very contagious; an idea gone viral.
