Another war, just as the one in Afghanistan wrapped up and things settled down there.
A simmering conflict in Ukraine was reignited with the Russian invasion on February 24 this year.
In April 2019 actor Volodymyr Zelensky becomes the President of Ukraine, a nation notorious for its internal corruption.

Now, in April 2022, Zelensky is an international hero, and have solicited billions and billions of dollars from the international community for his government plus huge amounts of physical armaments.
About 10 million Ukrainians have been displaced from their homes and the country is in an existential conflict - that could have been avoided, but was not.
And, already we have a winner! The military/industrial/financial complex.
Then there is the obvious loser: All the rest of us.
