Heavy (old stock) weapons are now on the way to Ukraine from the US among other places, and will need to use Ukrainian railways for transportation to the front lines in the east.
That translates into increased attacks on the Ukrainian railway network by the Russians.
According to Norwegian news sources, Sweden and Finland have been invited by Jens Stoltenberg to join NATO with protection guarantees from the alliance during the process.
Norwegians have also closed their border with Russia in the far north of that country.
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov is sounding repeated warnings about escalation of the conflict, and views the possible entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO with alarm.
In this context it is important to understand that the Putin regime sees the war as an existential one for its own survival and will have nothing to lose if it finds its back up against the wall.
So, an exchange of tactical nuclear weapons, designed to eliminate military targets is a possibility.
