Disappearing wetland in Central Alberta
Going back and forth to Red Deer from Caroline for some 34 years, I have always noticed the slough on the corner of Highways 54 and 781,
occupied by ducks and other birds during ice free months of the year.
Not any more.
This wetland has dried up, along with countless others in Central Alberta, and is turning into grassland.
