Canada, a colonial construct, is grappling with its identity.
Pretending to be a leading nation among peers and a model of successful coexistence of minority groups under the guidance of an enlightened federal government, the reality is rather different:
More like groups of people, ranging from west to each with most connections to the south, rather than east-west across the remnants of a British colony. With trade barriers across provincial borders and relatively free trade going north-south.
You get the picture, in spite of strenuous attempts by mainstream media actors to try to knit the place together on behalf of Central Canadian interest groups.
With a history as dirty as that of the United States in regards to indigenous peoples.
Some folks believe that We in the West are now at a crossroads in regards to who we want to snuggle up with: Ottawa bullies, Washington bullies, or ourselves, with our own bullies?
