Message from Charles Aulds

Today, January 14, 2026, NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) released their global analysis for the calendar year 2025.

Among NOAA's findings:

The year 2025 ranked as the third-warmest year since global records began in 1850, finishing 1.17°C (2.11°F) above the 20th-century average of 13.9°C (57.0°F).

2025 narrowly missed the second-place currently held by 2023 and trailed the all-time record set in 2024 by 0.12°C (0.22°F).

The 3 warmest years on record are the last three years (2023, 2024 and 2025).

The 10 warmest years in the 176-year record have all occurred since 2015.

2025 also marked the 43rd consecutive year with North America experiencing above-average temperatures.
