Election Process and Next Steps

These results are unofficial as of Monday evening, October 20, 2025. In accordance with Section 97 of the Local Authorities Election Act, the Returning Officer will not declare the official results until 12:00 noon on Friday, October 24, 2025, allowing time for verification of ballot counts and any potential recount requests.clearwatercounty​

The newly elected councillors will be sworn in at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Following the Oath of Office, Council will hold its Organizational Meeting, during which the Reeve and Deputy Reeve will be elected from among the seven councillors. Clearwater County does not directly elect its Reeve; instead, this position is appointed by Council after the general election.clearwatercounty+2​

The 2025 election was conducted under new provincial rules that prohibited electronic vote counting, requiring all ballots to be counted by hand.
