There was some confusion in Caroline on the morning of Thursday, November 26. There was a foul smell in the air over a large area in and around Caroline, which coincided with water bubbling onto the west end of main street leading to stories about a busted sewer line. As it turned out, the smell came from a gas release from an N.A.L. Resources well just to the north of the village. The leak was contained and the gas had dissipated by lunchtime (thankfully!)Main street was blocked off and a contractor brought in to dig up the area around the leak.
